How student loan debt became a $1.8 Trillion American catastrophe and how we must find a fair and equitable solution. The USC Casden Institute in partnership with the School of Cinematic Arts on Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. PDT will present a free virtual screening of the award-winning “Sallie Mae Not,” episode one of the “Scared to Debt” documentary series. Usually held on the second Monday of every month (except when holidays conflict), these free meetings switch between Washington DC and Silver Spring. The Washington DC meetings organized by WIFV are focused on receiving expert advice on topics related to documentary filmmaking while the Silver Spring meetings organized by Docs In Progress are focused on peer feedback, often a presentation and review of a director's 'Trailer'.
